10 Ways Idaho Can Celebrate Maddie May Day in Memory of Maddie Mogen [PICS]
Happy Maddie May Day, Maddie Mogen.
In early May, the family of Maddie Mogen, slain University of Idaho student, announced the creation of Maddie May Day.
Maddie May Day, designated May 25, is Mogen's birthday. To honor the memory of their beautiful daughter on what would have been her 22nd birthday, the Associated Press reported Mogen's parents' request to "celebrate her birthday by remembering the joy she brought others, not the grief created by her absence."
Following the Mogens' early-May announcement, #MaddieMayDay lit up social media. Stories of good deeds, acts of kindness, and people paying it forward started popping up the morning of the 25th.
There is not a monetary movement, there is no requirement to be anywhere or do anything specific. It’s beautiful in its simplicity. And yet it’s effective and powerful. -The Mogen Family
