Christmas is the most magical time of the year and is the season of joy, holiday parties, and yes, presents. I've always been fascinated by how many areas of life we focus on when it comes to gifts. You think about getting presents for family, friends, people you work with, and maybe those individuals who have been kind to you throughout the year.

Then you have the circumstances behind giving the gift which could be a secret Santa, a holiday party, or that always so-popular White Elephant game; the game that requires you to pick a random present and you have the option to "steal" unwrapped gifts from those before you.

With so many ways to give and receive presents throughout the holidays, there's bound to be a situation or two where things just got flat-out awkward. We took to social media to ask you, the people of Boise, what are some of the most awkward gifts that you've received during the holiday season?

You would think that the old saying "it's the thought that counts" would come into play in these scenarios but some of these gifts make that a little more difficult. Say for example - what do you actually do if your grandparents gift you an undergarment? What do you do? How do you handle that? I mean, really think about it. You're hanging out with the family on Christmas Eve, enjoying a cocktail... some of that delicious holiday ham... then it's time to exchange presents. What do you do when grandma or grandpa gives you a pair of underwear in front of the entire family? I would love to know your thoughts here.

Let's dive into some of the most awkward gifts ever received by people in Boise as told by those who got them.
