Restaurant Chain in ID, WA, and UT Closing 70 Locations
The last few years have not been kind to many once-popular chains in the country. It doesn't matter if it is retail, fast food, sit-down restaurants, or any other type of business. Many popular chains have had to close locations nationwide, with too many places going entirely out of business. There are many factors in this happening, but each time another place joins the growing list, it saddens customers, and many hold their breath for the inevitable of losing these places for good. Another popular food chain with locations in Idaho, Washington, and Utah has announced they are closing stores, and all three states will likely be affected.
Red Robin Closing in Idaho, Utah, and Washington
Before you freak out reading the headline above, no Red Robin is not going out of business, but the popular burger food chain did announce recently that it would be closing nearly 70 locations nationwide. It is unknown at this time which stores will be closing but with multiple locations in Idaho, Washington, and Utah, chances are high that each state will be affected in some form. The company lost millions of dollars over the last couple of years, forcing the company to make some adjustments, beginning with the closure of multiple stores. There are currently 8 locations in Idaho alone, with 6 locations in Utah, and over 30 different locations in Washington.

There are currently nearly 500 locations nationwide and the chain has been around since 1969. More than 80 percent of the restaurants are company-owned, which would likely be the ones to close first when it comes to shutting down the locations later this year. As of right now, the plan is to only close the nearly 70 locations, but have not ruled out the possibility of closing more locations in the future. After losing nearly $40 million, something needed to change. This continues a theme that other popular food chains have seen over the last couple of years, and hope is high that Red Robin will be able to avoid the same fate as many of them.

If you are someone who enjoys Red Robin, make sure to get out and enjoy a burger before it is too late. You never know, your closest store could be one of the 70 locations closing or could be closing in the future depending on how things play out for the rest of 2025.
