Motorcycle Driver Killed in Idaho Highway Crash Near Idaho Falls

The Idaho State Police have reported the second fatal motorcycle accident in August. This is also the 8th fatal motorcycle accident Idaho State Police have reported since the 100 Deadliest Days of Summer began.

The most recent fatal motorcycle accident happened in Bonneville County on August 6th at 5:39 PM.

ISP Report Fatal Pickup vs Motorcycle Crash South of Idaho Falls

The ISP report says the accident involved a motorcycle and a pickup truck on S Yellowstone Highway at S 15th W, on the south end of Idaho Falls.

A black 2014 Honda Motorcycle, driven by a 20-year-old male, from Idaho Falls, was driving northbound on S Yellowstone Highway in the center turn lane when he was merging into the lane of travel and collided with a white GMC pickup, driven by a 61-year-old male with a 61-year-old female passenger both from Shelley, Idaho, also traveling southbound on S Yellowstone Highway attempting to make a left hand turn onto S 15th W.

The motorcycle rider was wearing a helmet but passed away at the scene of the crash.

A fatal head-on accident north of Lake Cascade was reported by the Idaho State Police on August 5th. A juvenile passenger in one vehicle was killed in the accident. Two other juveniles and an elderly man were seriously injured in the crash and air-lifted to a local hospital.
