We had the privilege of meeting this young lady and her Maverick teammates at 7 Cares Day this past December and last night she made her name known on a national stage.

During her time with the Mavs, Destiny Slocum has been named the Idaho Gatorade player of the year two seasons in a row and helped Team USA reach gold in the 2015 FIBA World Championship in Russia.  According to ESPN, the senior point guard is the #7 over all prospect for incoming college freshmen.  She'll be playing at Maryland next year.

Last night Slocum finished 2nd in the 3 point contest at the Powerade Jam Fest in Chicago. She'll participate on the West team in the McDonald's All American game at Chicago's United Center on Wednesday.  The game can be seen on ESPNU at 4:30.

BTW: Destiny is the girl all the way to the right in the photo above!
