"The Greatest of All Time" has passed away at a Phoenix-area hospital after being admitted for respiratory complications due to Parkinson's Disease.

According to NBC News, a family spokesman has confirmed the boxing legend has passed away at age 74.  The family is planning a funeral service in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky in the coming days.

In addition to his fame as a boxer, Ali gained national attention in the 60s when he converted to Islam and refused to serve in the Vietnam War when he was drafted. He legally changed his birth name Cassius Clay to Muhammad Ali when he converted religions at age 22.
