Pick of the Week: White Fence
The prolific psychedelic musician White Fence is back with a brand new LP called 'For the Recently Found Innocent' which is not just expanding his horizon as an artist but also creating his most accessible sound yet.
La Roux
Over four years after scoring a hit with Bulletproof, the British synth-pop singer returns with a follow-up to her 2009 debut, created alongside co-producer Ian Sherwin. It features the singles "Let Me Down Gently", "Uptight Downtown", and "Tropical Chancer".
Alvvays
Released by the great record label Polyvinyl Records, the Toronto group Alvvays create layered songs with fantastic guitar melodies. This is one band to pay attention to.
Common
Common's latest album 'Nobody's Smiling' reunites the Chicago rapper with No I.D., the famed producer who he collaborated with on his first three albums.
Various Artists
This year, the widely celebrated electronic label Hyperdub will release four compilations in commemoration of its 10th anniversary. Hyperdub 10.2, which follows May’s 10.1, features music from from Burial, the late DJ Rashad, label founder Kode9, Dean Blunt and Inga Copeland, Cooly G, and many more, as well as some special guests. Ghostface Killah appears on a Morgan Zarate track, while Dâm-Funk is featured on an Ikonika cut.
