Boise looking out for Boise. It's my favorite thing.

Once again, the Picnic In The Park program is launching right here in the Treasure Valley. Sponsored by the Idaho Food Bank, free lunch for kids will be available in local parks for the summer.

Sure, school is out. For many kids that means day activities and a break from the homework. For many others, it may mean there are no guaranteed meals during the day. Think about that for a second. Local kids with NO guarantee that they'll be eating tomorrow. That makes me sick.

The Idaho Food Bank will be hosting free lunches for ALL kids, ages 1-18, starting tomorrow, Monday, June 3rd and running through August 9th. The lunches are offered 5-days a week, Monday-Friday, during this window. Meals are available to adults as well, for a very low price.

Times for the lunches depend on your location. To see the complete list, click HERE.

According to the Idaho Food Bank, last summer over 36,000 meals were served.
