Who’s got NXT?

As a parent and coach who is heavily involved in the Treasure Valley’s youth sports scene, I’ve come to realize that there is a misconception regarding youth football….and that misconception is that there is only one option when it comes to finding a league for your child to play in.

If you’ve been around the area for a while, I’m sure you’re familiar with the traditional option for youth football.  However, if you’re new to the valley, or even just new to getting your kids involved in sports (specifically football) for the first time, I’m here to help.

Check out the NXT Level Football League.  It’s a new(er) league in the valley that is growing and offering a different football experience to the area’s youth football players.  The league started in 2015 and will begin its third season of play this fall.  Registration is open now and there is still plenty of time to get your Tom Brady-wannabee child signed up.

A few things that make this league stand out include:

- NXT Level teams are named after NFL teams, and have custom jerseys with your  child’s name on the back that they get to keep at the end of the season

- Games are played on full-size fields with high school rules, in an effort to get players ready for the “NXT” level (middle school and high school).  They are played at local middle and high schools with only one game going on at a time.  This cuts down on parking issues and overcrowding surrounding the fields.

- Game Days have an awesome “vibe”, with player introductions, warm-up music and music between plays and quarters and during timeouts, and a salute to our country with the National Anthem being played before every game.

- All coaches are certified by the NFHS (National Federation of State High School Associations).

If you’re looking for a league or team this fall for your little linebacker to join, I suggest taking a look at NXT Level Football.  It’s a great way to learn the game of football while also learning how to be responsible members of the community.  Football is the ultimate team sport that teaches so much more than just how to throw, catch and tackle.  And with cool jerseys, great coaching, an awesome game-day experience, and competition that will challenge kids at every level, it’s a great way to make memories that your child (and you) will remember forever.

It may currently be late spring, but it’s never too early to start thinking about the boys of fall.
