Did you love spending summer nights enjoying a margarita while betting on horses with funny names? You may be doing it again sooner than you think!

I used to love Ladies Night at Les Bois Park. Free admission and cheap drinks? Yes, please! I even sort of knew what I was talking about when it game to win, place, show, quinella and trifecta bets. I'll admit I wasn't great at making the right bets, simply because I would just pick the horses with the funniest names.  (Although, I once made $15 off a horse named Dewey Cox.) So needless to say, my summer felt very empty without live horse racing last year.

But according to the Idaho Statesman, Treasure Valley Racing is planning to apply for live and simulcast racing at Les Bois this year! They're also hoping to bring back the popular historical racing machines.  The "instant racing terminals" closely resembled slot machines and were ruled illegal when the Idaho's historical racing legislation was repealed. They were a major part of helping the track break-even in revenue during the 2015 season.

The Statesman goes on to explain that the Idaho Racing Commission will discuss a temporary rule that could bring at this Wednesday's meeting.

Les Bois closed on May 20th, 2016.
