Downtown Boise

There's something about the way the city looks and feels around Treefort time that can't be recreated. It's about embracing Boise and bringing everyone together to celebrate who and what we are. Some moments are clear while others are a little foggy.

Its finally SUMMER in the Treasure Valley and you know what that means, right?

Treefort is five days of music, film, comedy, yoga, beer and more. Downtown roads are closed off and replaced with giant stages, art, food trucks, shopping and people. So many people. ValleyRide buses are offering free rides with your wristband.

Unless you’ve stopped to take a look into the red binoculars near the Grove Plaza (there's one right outside my gym so I got curious one day,) you may not realize that Boise was once home to a booming Chinatown. The Chinese presence in Downtown Boise in the late 1800s lead to a local mystery that some still debate in 2017.

At First Thursday this week, you'll see local artists featured all over downtown Boise shops and restaurant windows. It's all for one reason.

Renting a Boise Green Bike modeled after Kristin Armstrong's Olympic bicycle will also give to a good cause. As the wind is blowing through your hair, wave at everyone you pass because they know you're a great human being.

The Pacific Northwest is bustling with local Breweries and craft beers. Downtown Boise will soon welcome another into its folds.

Driving through downtown Boise and I look up toward the Grove Hotel and notice a whole new look. Dear Grove Hotel: You are lookin fine!
