TheSW30: Day 13, My Mini Me

Day 13: Describe how you met the last person you texted and talk about your friendship/relationship.

If you couldn't tell I'm behind on the blog challenge and was out sick this morning, so the prompt is more like the last person that texted you, since I really haven't answered anyone today since I've been asleep the majority of the day!

That person is my friend/neighbor Jordan, who (aside from Keke) is the friend I've had the longest in Boise.  When I moved here four years ago and found out the station was involved in the Women's Fitness Celebration/FitOne, I tried to put together a Monday night run group for my team to get ready for the 5K.  I didn't know anyone here and I figured having something similar to the Youngstown Road Runners club I was part of back home would be a great way to meet people.  Well, Ms. Jordan was the only one that showed up!

It's hard to believe that she was in Junior High when I met her and this spring she'll be graduating from high school.  We may be eight years apart in age, but she's one of my favorite people to hang out with because I see so much of a younger me in her.  It's been a privilege to watch her grow up and handle making college decisions, deal with some of the same family issues I dealt with around her age with grace and really stand by the morals she believes in no matter how her peers/acquaintances feel.

I feel like she's my second little sister and hope I've given her some wisdom over the years even if it is "do as I say, not as I do!"
