It's Homecoming week, parents and family weekend, and another big night for Boise State. I was talking to Mateo earlier and he mentioned Downtown Boise was crowded with all of the visiting families.

The Boise State Broncos didn't disappoint for the sellout crowd or the pollsters. You should see the Broncos climb the polls after their big win against a pretty stout Warrior team.

The Broncos are currently ranked #14 in both polls but it's up in the air where they land. Arizona State or Utah could jump BSU keeping them at #14. The Broncos played a great game Friday night with turnovers into points. There was one problem and you have to wonder at what cost did the Broncos win.

BSU's starting Freshman quarterback left midway through the second quarter with an injury after scrambling for a first down. Instead of sliding, Hank took it a few more yards getting hit from the side fumbling the ball.

The Broncos lost their freshman star as he didn't return in pads. Boise QB was in apparent pain and at one point falling to the ground. Backup quarterback Chase Cord stepped in finishing the drive with a touchdown pass in the endzone.

We don't know the fate of starting QB Hank Bachmeier at this moment but I'm sure we'll get word soon. It looks like Chase is the guy right now and you have to feel great about that considering he was the supposed starter before his injury last year. Chase looks good and we'll need him against BYU next weekend in Utah. Then again, backup QB Jaylon Henderson lit up Hawai'i so I have no idea what the plan is. Regardless, two solid backups are a great thing for the Broncos and Bronco Nation. BSU went on to crush the Warriors 59-37 and that's with backups on the field.

Next Game: BSU at BYU on Saturday, October 19, 2019. The Broncos are only a favorite at 58% to win. This is supposedly the big test for the Broncos and everyone will be watching.
