
Fatal Jeep vs Motorcycle Accident Reported in Northern Idaho
The Idaho State Police haven’t reported a fatal accident on Idaho highways in a news release since August 7th. There have been a few injury accidents between then and now across the state, but this has been the longest stretch of the 100 Deadliest Days of Summer without a highway death report.
On August 7th, there were three fatal accidents reported by ISP. They have now reported a fatal motorcycle accident on August 19th.
Idaho State Police Report 1 Dead in Motorcycle vs Jeep Accident
In the report from the Idaho State Police, they shared the details of the crash, which happened at 2:38 PM on US 95 near mile marker 395 south of the city of Plummer in Benewah County. This is the 43rd fatal highway accident reported in the Deadliest Days of Summer in Idaho.
A 25-year-old female of Plummer, ID, was travelling southbound on US95 in a red 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee and turned left on Seltice Avenue.
A 63-year-old male of Rathdrum, ID, was travelling northbound on US95 on a 2026 Honda motorcycle and was unable to stop and struck the Jeep as it turned.
The rider of the motorcycle was wearing a helmet, but passed away at the scene of the crash. The driver of the Jeep was wearing her seatbelt and didn’t report any injuries.

This is the 10th fatal motorcycle accident reported since May 29th, 2026.
There have been a total of 48 people killed in the 43 fatal highway accidents this summer.
