The NBA just announced it won't end the season due to the coronavirus. Instead, they plan to come back, end the season and start the playoffs. Basketball is back!

If this season would have ended we never would know if the Lakers could make it back to the Finals in memory of Kobe Bryant. Would it even be the Lakers, the new-look Clippers, or the Houston Rockets? There is even rumor that Kevin Durant could come back to finish the season in the East. What is going to happen? Will Lebron James win a ring with his third NBA team? I guess the real question is where, when, and can fans attend?

Here's why I found on NBA.com.

  1. 22 teams are invited to play.
  2. The season will begin practicing at the Disney campus in July.
  3. Season restarts on July 31, 2020.
  4. NBA Finals could end up in late October.

There's still a ton of things to work out but one thing stood out to me. The 2020-2021 season will start as usual on December 1, 2020. That means that some teams will only have a few months off before starting all over.

You can plan on an eight-game return, some type of play in system followed by the playoffs. What about the fans? That is vague but not ruled out. You can see still much more to know about coronavirus so I'm sure this is going to be a daily update. Regardless, it feels good to see something coming back.
