5 Things to Know About BMF Artist Austin Mahone
If you're a Mahomie, you know Austin Mahone is going to kill it at Boise Music Festival.
If you're not yet familiar, you're in for a treat. Here's five things you should know about BMF artist Austin Mahone.
#5 - He Got His Start On Youtube
Back in 2010, Austin was an aspiring singer trying to follow in the footsteps of Justin Bieber. Recording himself singing cover songs and uploading them to YouTube. Speaking of Bieber, when Mahone released a cover in 2011 of Justin's "Mistletoe," he was discovered soon after and the rest is history.
#4 - He's Signed to Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment
This might seem like a mismatch, but it's the real deal. Austin is signed to Young Money, and he's also the teen ambassador for Lil Wayne's Trukfit clothing line. You know the kid is good if one of the best rappers alive is in his corner.
#3 - He Hails From San Antonio, Texas
Much like The Fast and The Furious star Michelle Rodriguez, President Eisenhower, and Jackie Earl Haley (Nightmare On Elm Street, Watchmen), Austin hails from the home of the Alamo. He attended high school for just one year before he was homeschooled by his grandmother.
#2 - He Has a Duet With Flo-Rida
We're hoping to see Austin and Flo perform this one together at BMF on June 24th. The song samples Biz Markie's "Just A Friend," and Austin makes it super pop friendly while still pay respect to Biz's skills.
#1 - He Starred in a McDonald's Commercial
After his song "What About Love" blew up, Austin was scooped up by the golden arches to star in a TV campaign. We're lovin' it!
