5 Things to Know About BMF Artist Hey Violet
You've heard "Guys My Age" on 103.5 KISS FM, so you've heard Hey Violet.
Here's what you need to know before seeing them on the Boise Music Festival stage.
#5 - They're A Five Piece Band
When "Guys My Age" first played on 103.5 KISS FM, many fans thought Hey Violet was the name of the girl singing. Well, not so much. That's Rena Lovelis. She's accompanied by Miranda Miller (rhythm guitar, keyboards), Nia Lovelis (drums), Casey Moreta (lead guitar), and Iain Shipp (bass).
#4 - Hey Violet Hails From Los Angeles
Much like LMFAO and Maroon 5, Hey Violet comes from the city of angels. Oddly enough, they were originally signed to Hollywood Records.
#3 - The Band Formed in High School
Way back when they were in middle school, four of the group's members got together and started the band Cherri Bomb, an all-female rock band.
#2 - Hey Violet is Linked to 5 Seconds Of Summer
In March of 2015, Hey Violet hit the big time and signed to Hi Or Hey Records. Oddly enough, the record label was formed by the beloved Aussies 5 Seconds Of Summer. Why might that be? That summer, Hey Violet opened for the boys on their North American and European tours.
#1 - Expect New Music in 2017
While there's no concrete release date, Hey Violet are planning on releasing a new album sometime in 2017. Could that mean new music from the band before Boise Music Festival? We've got our fingers crossed!
