A-List Movie Star Calls Lake Hazel Student Fighting Cancer

Many of you have seen the "Light Blue 4 Leia" posts trending locally on Facebook the last few weeks.  The Lake Hazel Middle student is fighting Stage 4 Hodgkin's Lymphoma and her favorite movie star called to surprise her before her next round of chemo!

13 year-old Leia was recently diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma and has seen an outpouring of love and support from the community.  That support also includes Infinite Kindness's golf tournament for Leia coming up in March.  Her one wish?  To have Adam Sandler appear as Happy Gilmore at the event.  And what better way to get a hold of an A-list Movie star than social networking?

Enough people tweeted this picture of Leia yesterday that Sandler's personal assistant was able to connect the two of them on the phone before she started her next round of Chemo.  Sandler spent 15 minutes on the phone with Leia since he can't make it to the golf tournament because he's currently shooting a new film.  Can we all agree Adam Sandler is like THE COOLEST movie star alive?!  Thank you for making our friend smile, Adam!!!

Speaking of cancer, I've been nominated to run for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Woman of the Year.  WOY is a 10 week campaign where every $1 I raise is 1 vote for my team to win the title and 1 vote to kick cancer's butt for good!
