Last year Amazon announced that it was going to build a new headquarters somewhere in the United States. The city which has yet to be chosen would receive significant benefits if selected. Amazon committed to a $5B investment and estimated 50,000 "high paying jobs" would be created. Of course, Boise was one of 238 cities that applied for the tech giant to be its new home. Amazon has not announced it's the name of its new home. However, it looks like it will be moving into the Treasure Valley after all.

The Village at Meridian is set to get another high-profile tenant: Amazon Books.

The mega-corporations physical bookstore is in the permitting phase for a location next to Anthropologie, the former home of Paperie + Pen.

The Amazon Books store concept is pretty cool. I had time to stop by one while on my last visit to Seattale. The vibe was similar to Barnes and Noble mixed with an Apple Store. The most significant frustration was each book had to be scanned or found on the Amazon app to see the price.

The Boise Dev article states that neither The Village or Amazon has made an official announcement yet and no open date has been confirmed.
