Beef Recalling Over 62,000 Pounds of Beef This Memorial Day Weekend
Memorial Day is upon us and that usually means barbecues, cookouts, Roaring Springs visits and smores. I would probably stay away from beef this holiday because we have a major recall that might just affect your get together.
My wife won't mind and neither will my vegetarian co-host but I need beef! Let's get this fixed asap yo! Looks like there is a 62,000-pound beef recall according to the USDA's most recent announcement.
Recalls are actually a common thread in production and most of the time it doesn't affect us. There are several things you want to check in order to ensure that your family won't get contaminated. Let's roll through the list quickly to make sure you're clear.
- The meat being recalled was packaged at the Aurora Packing Company, Inc in North Aurora, Illinois on April 19, 2019, and has already been shipped.
- USDA also announced that no direct reactions have been connected to this meat but testing is to blame for this large recall.
- There is a list of about 40 items and you'll be looking for establishment number 788. This will read EST.788.
- This recall includes various cuts of steak ribeyes, ribs, brisket and more.
These items could be in the store in freezers now. I don't know how many times I've thrown out items with expired tags just because stores want them off the shelves. So frustrating!
