Like everything else in this city, Boise's coffee scene is growing. It seems like every week there's a new local coffee shop opening. From the big dogs like Dutch Bros and Black Rock that have been dominating the market, to the mom and pop shops we adore, there's plenty of competition. But could Boise be ready for the return of Bikini Baristas?
We all remember Hotties Mochas and More which was located off of Chinden. The controversial coffee shop shut their doors in 2011 due to the rigid economy. Idaho's two other bikini spots, Kisses Espresso in Coeur d'Alene and Sling Shots Espresso in Post Falls both saw a change in management and dress code requirements, which eliminated bikini baristas in the gem state.
But could the bikini baristas be ready for their return? According to a new court ruling in Everett, Washington, we might soon see some change.

KOMO reported that a federal judge has ruled in favor of a group of bikini baristas in Everett, issuing a preliminary injunction against the city's rules and dress code for the workers.
While the city aimed to have baristas wear a minimum tank top and shorts, the U.S. District Court Judge Marsha Pechman wrote that the city's rules "are likely void for vagueness under the 14th Amendment and that they "fail to provide clear guidance and raise risks of arbitrary enforcement."
The judge also says that the dress code violates the baristas' right of free expression under the First Amendment.
With judges siding that the outfits are acceptable, and bikini baristas wanting to work, what does this mean for us here in Boise where we love our baristas and coffee?
If someone moves forward with an interest in bringing this back to the Treasure Valley, this would be the first new bikini barista spot in our area since 2007.
What are your thoughts on bikini baristas coming back to Idaho? Would you stop by their drive thru's or go elsewhere for your java fix?
