I'm already starting to see pictures and videos on Instagram of skiers and boarders dusting off and waxing their equipment. So many were excited last week when we got snow in the Treasure valley because they knew that it meant powder for Bogus and the rest of the ski hills in the state. Everyone who has continued to pray for snow should be jumping for joy as your prayers have been answered. Bogus Basin will officially open this Friday for the 2021 winter season. Wait that's not all, there is more exciting news where that came from... all ten lifts will be in service for opening day, that is a big deal because Bogus hasn't been able to do that for years due to lack of snow.

In a press release General Manager Brad Wilson said ."This has been Bogus Basin's lucky year for early snowstorms, and snowmaking conditions,"...he continued  "It's pretty amazing to be opening this early with great coverage throughout the area."

They say membership pays off and this is definitely the case as only season pass holders will be able to enjoy the slopes this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Bogus will be closed the Monday and Tuesday following the Thanksgiving holiday but will open for the general public on Wednesday, Dec. 2. Moral of the story is if you want to board this weekend... get your season pass now.

On the subject of COVID-19 Wilson stated... "I can say with certainty that our team has done everything we can to keep our staff and guests safe," he added . "Now we need the community's support. The success of the season depends on our collective willingness to follow our guidelines. It's that simple."

Obviously visitors will need to wear a mask and physically distance. If Bogus is not your vibe here are opening days for other area ski resorts:
