Tour 'Behind The Scenes' at the Boise Airport This Weekend

There's something magical about an airport--it's where you're able to quickly escape to anywhere in the world: literally. Despite the Boise Airport being 'small' compared to many, it's a place that marks the beginning of any vacation, business trip, or adventure here in Boise.

Celebrating 100 years of existence this year, the Boise Airport has been hosting some fun events and will continue to do so through 2026.

This weekend, they're offering a unique experience that you may never get to see again. A full-access, 'behind the scenes' tour of the workings of the Boise Airport!

Who and what makes its operations possible? What happens to your checked bags?

So what can you expect from the experience?

First, we have to remind you: it's completely free! It doesn't get much better than that for some summer fun.

Airport officials say that those on the all-ages experience will be able to:

Get up close to check out airfield trucks and other 'big rigs'
Participate in hands-on STEM activities
'Spot' planes from the airfield--and you can't spot planes at a better location than this!
Play all sorts of airport and airplane games
Grab a bite at local food trucks

The once in a lifetime experience will be taking place on Saturday, June 6th, from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

The only other pointers? City of Boise officials ask that you dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes. Also, expect a security screening upon entry.
