Open the floodgates and fire up the night life machine...maybe.

This weekend could be an eventful one in downtown Boise as Central District Health has  special meeting planned to address bar closures, which they mandated, in Ada County.

At a Board Meeting on Tuesday night, Russel Duke of the Central District Health said that they're getting, and I quote "really close" to getting into a position of loosening up COVID-19 restrictions.

A petition signed by many Boise bar owners has been presented to Central District Health hopes to spearhead an effort to re-open bars and nightlife. Now, Central District Health is saying they'll be holding a meeting on Thursday night at 5:15 p.m. to discuss the request further.

Just a couple of weeks ago Humpin' Hannah's re-opened with a restaurant license and per a recent Facebook post, Cactus Bar, a 'Grand Re-Re-Opening' will be held on September 4th at 10:00 a.m.

I'm not really sure what to expect in the coming days and weeks but regardless, IF and WHEN nightlife returns, having that option is certainly going to feel strange. Will people be responsible? Should we expect mask requirements this time versus the last round of bar re-opening?

It feels like good news could be coming for bar owners this week...we'll keep you posted!
