Surreal Photos Show Boise Firefighters Rescuing Massive Hawk

Every now and then, we come across a story, a photo, or a video of something that is just 'so Boise', and there really isn't another way to describe it. If you have been lucky enough to live in this special place for a bit, you totally get what we mean.

A story, and some photos, recently shared by the Boise Fire Department had hearts melting!

The Boise Fire Department was called for a rescue...but they rescued a Red-Tailed Hawk!

No blazing flames, no 10-story buildings, no mass destruction...just an Idaho hawk that needed some help!

The department said it isn't the first time that a hawk has needed rescued and we can't help but wonder why or how these big birds get all caught up in a tree! They're supposed to be professionals at getting way up there!

The Boise Fire Department released a fun statement about the unique rescue:

For the second time in a month, Boise firefighters came to the rescue of a raptor tangled in a tree. This time, a red-tailed hawk needed a helping hand.  Once again, the Engine 1 crew stepped onto the scene, raised a ladder, and carefully freed the trapped bird.  Great work team! At this point, should we rename Engine 1, the Raptor Wagon?

 

This also isn't the first time that the Boise Fire Department has responded to rescue a creature in the Treasure Valley! Not long ago, there was a cat in a peculiar spot that needed help!
