Boise Family Displaced After Devastating Residential Fire
It's news that you hope to never receive--learning that your home has caught fire.
Unfortunately, one family in Boise received news this morning that their house was on fire.
In the early morning hours of Sunday, August 10th, a home here in Boise received significant fire damage from a blaze that is still under investigation by local officials. The photos are terrifying and officials hope that the community can come together to support those impacted.
According to the Boise Fire Department, the blaze began on the deck of the home's backyard.
Upon arrival, crews found the fire, which started on the deck in the backyard, had spread to nearby wood siding and into the overhead attic space. The family was alerted when the fire burned into the attic, making loud sounds that were heard by the occupants. They were able to safely evacuate the home through the front door as the home’s fire alarms began to sound. There were no reported injuries. Fire crews worked aggressively to contain the fire, initiating fire attack first on the back side of the home before adding a second line of attack from the front. The home was severely damaged and the family has been displaced as a result of the fire.
Luckily, there were no reported injuries.
A family here in Boise is now displaced and while there are may great local resources to help them in this time of need, unfortunately, nothing can bring back the place known as 'home' to these folks.
