If you recall Boise's last mayoral race, you may remember that it wasn't a cake-walk like it had been in years past.  For several years, incumbent candidate Dave Bieter had been comfortably sitting in the Office of Mayor at City Hall--as Boise boomed into the fastest growing city in America.

Many didn't expect Lauren McLean, another Democrat, to challenge Bieter--but she did and after a contentious race and even a runoff election--she won: dominantly.

It's already time to start discussing city leadership once again and Mayor Lauren McLean has just this week announced her candidacy.

  Many are excited that McLean has announced that she is running for re-election. Let's be honest, it doesn't matter who was mayor over this past term--it was not an easy few years. Between a COVID-19 pandemic and an ever-evolving & hostile political environment it wasn't the most coveted job in the world.
