Boise Police Engage in Shootout During Overnight Incident
The sound of gunshots rung out late Wednesday night, July 26th, in an otherwise very quiet Boise North End.
It's fair to say that the City of Boise is not used to violent crime at all--but on the heels of another recent officer involved shooting in Boise, the incident tonight has residents on high alert.
It didn't take long for the high number of gunshots being heard in Boise's North End to reach social media.

Boise Police released a statement just shortly after midnight, following the incident that began a couple of hours prior:
Following at media briefing held near the scene of the crime around 3:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 27th, Boise Police issued the following statement, describing the incident upon responding to the 10:24 p.m. report:
At 10:43 pm officers could hear shots fired and requested additional officers. Officers quickly responded and located the suspect. There was an exchange of gunfire and the suspect was struck. Ada County Paramedics arrived and the suspect was pronounced deceased on scene.
No police officers were 'physically injured', they noted.
