Boise Police Need Help Finding One, Very Specific $5 Bill
As our area continues to grow--it is expected that an increase in crime may go along with that. The general hope, however, is that crime rates in the Treasure Valley remains low and that our streets remain safe.
A recent robbery--which you don't hear of much of at all in the Treasure Valley--has the Boise Police Department on a peculiar hunt. During the robbery, the suspect ran off with cash and somehow, investigators know the exact serial number on one of those stolen five dollar bills. Now, they're hoping everyone will take a peak into their purses and wallets to see if they have it.
As shared on the Boise Police Department Facebook page:
This might be long shot, but do you have the clue we need to solve a crime? Our detectives are investigating a recent robbery where the suspect got away with cash; one of those bills was a $5 bill with the serial number ML10515390K. We expect it’s already been spent and probably is out in circulation right now but if you happen to have this $5 bill, we would love to know where you got it and we will follow the money from there.
Do note, the department assumes that cash has already been spent--so don't fear you'll be labeled a suspect if you call them with the "missing bill"!
The Boise Police Department notes that while checking your wallet for a serial code is not nearly as exciting as checking your lottery tickets or coveted Powerball tickets--they would be thrilled to hear from you.
Don't forget, that serial number is: ML10515390K
