For years, Boise Pride Festival has gathered the Treasure Valley to celebrate "pride"--individuality and freedom to be one's self. An event built on foundations of love and acceptance, it has grown over the last 10+ years into one of the largest events to happen all year long in the State of Idaho.

While Pride Month is traditionally celebrated in June, for Boise Pride, the festival now takes place in September.

As the festival shared with one Instagram user asking about the September dates just this weekend:

We host Boise Pride in September so we can book amazing talent that might not be available during the busy June season. Plus, the cooler weather makes for a more enjoyable celebration! There are a few other scheduling factors too, but no matter the month, Pride is all year round!

We have to agree--the cooler temps make being outside all weekend a lot more enjoyable!

Great new for those hoping to attend or celebrate -- Pride returns this weekend!

Last year, one major change made to the festival will return--making it the new 'norm'.

Boise Pride's location.

For the last several years, Boise Pride Festival has taken place at Cecil D. Andrus park right in front of the State of Idaho capitol building. Truth of the matter is: that park is a bit small for how much pride has grown.

Last year, the event moved to Ann Morrison Park and that's exactly where it will be once again.

The festival will span over three days; Friday through Sunday. While the park will offer tons of live entertainment and activity, two of the most popular annual events will be the firework show (on Saturday night) and the parade (which takes place on Sunday morning).

Festivities kick off on Friday night at Ann Morrison Park where Trixie Mattel will headline at 8:20p.m.
