It's about to be a BIG weekend for Boise's LGBTQIA+ community -- and all those who get out in support of the cause, as Boise Pride Festival returns to Boise for another year.

While nationwide, Pride Month is celebrated in June, here in Boise it has been celebrated in September for the last several years.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, the annual event has been moved to late summer / early fall and frankly, the season change has been a total hit with event attendees.  Formerly held in June, the festival would be held in the heat of summer--exhausting after being outside all day, all weekend long!

Tons of pride-themed and pride-sponsored events are going to be taking place all across the Treasure Valley in the coming days and with that, will come a lot of 'pride colors' decorating local streets and businesses!

This year, colors have been taken to a whole new level!

The colorful addition IS washable, so no--there's no 'damage' or 'vandalism' at all, for those concerned.

Located right on 8th street, bridging over Bannock Street, you'll notice a popular and wide crosswalk that has turned rainbow colors!  Applied overnight by using safe and washable chalk--a group of volunteers helped brighten the road in honor of Pride Week!

Interested in joining Boise Pride's festivities? There's a major kickoff concert on Friday night, September 5th at Treefort Music Hall and then all through the weekend at Anne Morrison Park!
