It's by far one of the most anticipated dates of the entire summer--and with temperatures going UP lately, many have been hoping and praying for some good news!

As it stands today, the Boise River is unfortunately not open for floating. And local officials want you to know that.

Just days ago, temperatures in Boise reached high 90's and everyone was seeking a way to cool off.

Despite the great weather in the skies, the air, and all around...the river just is not safe....yet.

In a release from the City of Boise, some logistics were explained for the public to understand:

Fluctuating river flows and dynamic conditions commonly occur in late-Spring due to ongoing snowmelt in the mountains, water management efforts and irrigation demands. Additionally, Boise Fire cannot yet begin to complete necessary hazard mitigation work to clear trees and debris to address safety concerns along the designated novice floater segment between Barber Park and Ann Morrison Park.

Each summer, it seems that Boise just comes to life. We're lucky to live in a place where there are more than enough things to do year round--with world class outdoor activities no matter the season and wildlife right in our backyard.

What completes the Boise summer experience? It's floating the Boise river.

Soon enough, floating WILL be a reality for us...be patient (and safe), Boise!
