We don't have to tell you this--but we're going to remind you anyway: Boise is GROWING. Really, the entire State of Idaho is growing and there's not much to be done about it. Some people love it, others hate it--and some are just going with the flow?

Curses can come with growth such as crime, increased cost of living, more traffic, and others.

Blessings can come with growth too, and that is one of the things that we wish more people would acknowledge. Jobs, industries, opportunities are all associated with growth. So too, is culture.

Culture is a magical thing and it's because of culture that we are the way that we are, today-- for better or for worse. Experiencing new cultures, foods, and traditions is a part of being a great member of the community-- not only experiencing, but embracing.

Events like the Boise Soul Food Festival, which is taking place this weekend, foster just that.

After seeing a huge success last year, the Boise Soul Food Festival is back and better than ever, this year, taking place at Julia Davis Park.

The event will be taking place on Saturday, August 13th!

As explained on their Facebook event page:

Join us on Saturday, August 13th at Julia Davis Park for a soulful Saturday of African-American-inspired soul food, Southern flavors, live entertainment, music, and fun!

There will be something for everyone-- from food to activities for both families and kids.
