Boise State Basketball Lands ‘Shocking’ New Opponent

It's the 'off season' for Boise State athletics right now, as school is out for the summer and sports are gearing up for a new year. Just because there aren't games, doesn't mean that the programs aren't hard at work, however.

Boise State football team is hitting the practice field hard--expectations for the football team are high after a wildly successful season in 2024 led by Ashton Jeanty, the 6th overall NFL Draft Pick and Heisman finalist.

On the hardwood, Boise State basketball is getting down to business with the new transfer portal additions and figuring out what a new season will look like.

As of today, fans are getting a glimpse of what the season is going to look like, as well--with an all new scheduling addition that is super exciting!

Coming this fall, Boise State will be entering into a 'home and home' agreement with the Shockers of Wichita State! The legendary 'cinderella' program has been known for their two final four appearances over the years including one legendary run in 2014 when they were awarded a top ranked seed in March Madness.

The Shockers will be here in Boise in November of 2025 and then the Broncos will travel to Wichita in 2026.

Fans are excited for a new program to build a rivalry against and for some fun, new exposure.
