Experts Call Boise State’s Opening Game a ‘Must Win’ For Season
Haters are going to hate. That's how the saying goes, right?
The haters are out in full force this fall and Boise State has but one option to shut them up: win.
It was a season for the record books last year--and it feels as though it has hardly been over. Maybe it's because the Broncos won so much that their season didn't end until a whole new year!
Carried primarily by the dominance of Ashton Jeanty (who is now a household name and a top drafted NFL roster player), the Broncos won over and over again last season, narrowly losing to the Oregon Ducks in Eugene and never losing again. For the first time ever, Division I college football had a playoff and Boise State was able to make the inaugural bracket.
After finally losing, this time to Penn State (who went on to the National Championship game), the Broncos began rebuilding.
The team will be without Ashton Jeanty--but the roster is talented enough for them to be ranked #25 in the national pre-season poll.
Experts from ESPN say, the season-opening game for Boise State is a must-win.
On the road against South Florida, this team is another 'cinderella' program that often finds themselves in contention for national rankings and big bowl games.
Boise State is allowed to lost to Notre Dame this season and still be in playoff contention but the experts (and the haters) all claim that there are no other games that they can drop.
Kickoff will be at 4:00 p.m. Boise time and televised on ESPN.
