Coming up in just a matter of days, the Boise State Broncos and their loyal fan base are going to be gearing up for what will be, arguably, the greatest football game to date in program history. Is Boise ready for this?

Over the years and particularly over the last couple of decades, there have been few success stories as known in college athletics as Boise State's football trajectory.  With very few 'downs' and many 'ups', the Broncos have climbed the ranks as one of the sports' most known 'cinderella' programs.

The infamous Fiesta Bowl, led by Chris Petersen and Ian Johnson, will always go down as one of the greatest games to ever be played in the game of football--dubbed 'David vs Goliath' where Boise State won on a bag of trick plays.

Then, of course, there were other bowl games, the 'Kellen Moore Era', and other Fiesta Bowls. All of them, big moments in program history.

This week, however, hits different.

The most storied college football program in America welcomes Boise State to its home stadium: Notre Dame.

It gets no more legendary than the Fighting Irish and for Boise State to have this game in the middle of the season, really hits different.  Come bowl season, all sorts of programs will be aligned against one another and often times, the matchups are unique. For Notre Dame and Boise State to matchup in the regular season? There's a lot on the line, here.

Defeat Notre Dame? The Broncos are nearly forgiven for losing early in the season and launched into a national conversation.  This would also, likely, knock the Irish out of that very playoff debate at the same time.

Lose to Notre Dame? The Broncos will need to do some more convincing to make their second College Football Playoff.

Kickoff is at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 4th!
