Winning: it's easier said than done. After a couple of 'slower' year for Boise State football, the Broncos seem to have found a way to win and it's putting them on the map in a way that hasn't happened since Kellen Moore was taking the snaps at quarterback.

Real Boise State fans will remember cheering on Boise State during their 'Glory Days' -- led by Chris Petersen and Kellen Moore. The wins, the major bowl games, the rankings.

Can you remember when Boise State was ranked FOURTH in the entire nation? It was the best of times for Boise State football.

Just released on Sunday, December 1st--the new weekly college football AP Top 25 Rankings--and it's all good news for the Broncos. Ranked TENTH--this hasn't been seen in over a decade-- since Coach Pete & Kellen's glory days in 2011.

Here's a look at some of the biggest things to happen for Boise State Football in the iconic 2011 season compared to this season!

Do you see any similarities??

Perhaps the best news about all of this is that the season has the potential to end on a much higher note.

In 2011, Boise State played in the Las Vegas Bowl, winning against Arizona State. No offense to the bowl game or the opponent--but when the Broncos were so highly ranked, nationally, fans really wanted to see a 'real' high profile matchup. In 2011, Boise State fell victim to the 'BCS System' -- one loss and the hopes for a major bowl game were nearly zero. The scales were tilted in favor for big teams in power conferences.

This year, despite the 1 loss (to the top ranked Oregon Ducks), Boise State still has a chance to play in a major bowl game and contend for a National Championship--because of the College Football Playoff. So long as Boise State is the 'best' of the non-power conference teams, they're in contention.

What hasn't happened since 2011 for Boise State? An AP Poll ranking this high.

After stomping on Oregon State, the 10th ranked Broncos now face a ranked UNLV team for a second time this season to not only win the conference championship but to seal what many believe to be a guaranteed slide in for the 'bye' game in the college football playoff.
