Boise State Snubbed, But Bronco Basketball in March Isn’t Over
Boise State fans all across the state and country and moaning and groaning today--the Broncos were 'snubbed' by the NCAA March Madness committee and despite being 'on the bubble', the Broncos did not secure a place in the tournament. Had they made the cut, it would have been their fourth consecutive appearance. Alas, it's time to start a new streak-- maybe next year?
It isn't all doom and gloom for the Broncos or their fans, however. A brand new post-season tournament has picked up Boise State, along with a whole group of other notable programs, including:
- The University of Utah
- Arizona State University
- Georgetown
- Washington State University
- USC
- University of Colorado
- University of Cincinnatti
That's not a bad lineup!
Selection Sunday was dramatic. If we're being honest--Boise State probably did deserve a spot in the tournament. So did some other programs, however, like Indiana and West Virginia. Who knows what really went into the decision from the committee.
At the end of the day: it's time to get over it. March is filled with heartbreak and Boise State is lucky to be a part of this brand new tournament. There's money on the line, too. Each team that makes the semifinal round receives a lucrative NIL package for their respective university.
Tough to say no to that!
The games will be televised nationally on FS1 and FOX, too!
The best way for Boise State to make the nation know that they belong? It isn't whining -- it's by WINNING in Las Vegas!
