We're in to a new week in the world of college sports--and sports in general--but fans here in Boise are still glowing after a dominant win in Boise on 'The Blue' against Mountain West foe, UNLV.

Many called it a 'rivalry'--the back and forth that Boise State has developed with UNLV over the last few yers. You may even remember last season, when Boise State needed a win in the Mountain West Championship Game against a ranked UNLV program. Post Malone was in attendance, the game ended in a Bronco victory on The Blue, fans stormed the field and the goal posts were ripped down. It was quite the scene.

While Boise State's win over UNLV didn't make THAT big of a splash this time around, it did make waves on a national scale, particularly in polling.

Boise State entered the season ranked in the Top 25 before being blown out by University of South Florida on the road. While the USF Bulls have rolled (and continue to be ranked) following their high-profile win over Boise State, the Broncos haven't been entertained by pollsters since. A loss at Notre Dame didn't help.

Now, as the Week 9 polls have been released, Boise State seems to be re-gaining some national respect.

While they only received a total of 4 votes, it places them at 33rd in the nation. One step closer to qualifying for the College Football Playoff once again.

Ahead of them for that spot? University of South Florida and yes-- Mountain West foe, San Diego State. Expect Boise State's matchup against the Aztecs to be big!
