Boise State versus Utah State Will Be The Game of the Year Saturday
Let's go Broncos! Bronco Nation just might have to plan a bowl trip after the win over New Mexico Friday night. BSU dominated from kickoff till the whistle blew to end the game.
Without getting all sports talk up in ya 🏈The Broncos seem to be on a roll winning the last 6 games putting them in the driver's seat for bowl season. BSU controls their own Bowl destiny with a win over Utah State Thanksgiving weekend.
Quarterback Brett Rypien looked great and the defense dominated with several turnovers to help mount a dominate 45-14 win in New Mexico. Now, what's that mean? It means we might be headed towards a rematch of last year's Mountain West Championship against the Fresno Bulldogs. If you remember BSU had to play Fresno State in Fresno and it was a must win to host the Mountain West Championship on the blue. They won in Fresno and had to be them twice by playing them next week on the blue. BSU won that game and went on to defeat the Oregon Ducks in the Las Vegas Bowl 38-28.
Here we go again! Everything rides on this coming weekend in which BSU controls their bowl destiny. Right now the Broncos are slated to play in the Idaho Potato Bowl on the blue. With Boise State winning this weekend and potentially taking out Utah State next weekend that will put BSU in the Mountain West Championship game. The Broncos will host because they have already beaten Fresno State and hopefully will win again Utah State. This will also be an extra special treat for Bronco Nation with an additional college football game in December.
Everything changes if Utah State loses to Colorado State this weekend. If #11 ranked UCF loses this weekend it will be all about the buzz on those final New Year's Eve bowl games.
What to Watch This Weekend
Pay close attention to #23 Utah State, #11 UCF vs #24 Cincinnati, and your closest beer. We could be headed for a mess but nothing matters if BSU can't find a win Thanksgiving weekend on the blue turf. The Broncos are banged up on both ends of the ball and it's gonna be cold. Will Bronco Nation show up?
My Prediction
If Bronco Nation sells out the stadium and comes back to represent at halftime, BSU wins. Brett Rypien tossed 3 touchdowns with his star receivers out by injury. The defense came up with an interception and a few fumble recoveries. That's also with several of the defense out due to injury. All that said I'm putting this game on Bronco Nation. Represent. Get loud. Utah State loses.
