For well over a decade, the name 'Kekeluv' has been synonymous with child abuse prevention and awareness in the Treasure Valley.  Known best for his many years on the radio--the great works and initiatives built by Kekeluv have impacted hundreds, if not thousands of lives, right here in the place that we call home.

His efforts to raise awareness and increase prevention of child abuse have run the gamut--from fun and high energy to grassroots and challenging. Kekeluv has run 7 marathons in 7 days, he has stayed awake for 175 consecutive hours, and most recently, has built out week-long events that have incorporated community leaders and members to join in the mission that it shouldn't hurt to be a child.

Anyone that has spent time in the Treasure Valley knows of his efforts in some way--whether it was growing up and watching news coverage of his latest crazy idea or many found themselves joining in--as victims of abuse--pledging to be where the abuse stops.

As Kekeluv states, abuse is cyclical. That is how his annual event has evolved over the years. Now--it's back: Kekeluv is 'cycling to break the cycle' and the entire community is invited to join in the effort. It's going to take a village--literally!

Now working in real estate, Kekeluv has continued to speak to the community through his popular social media channels. As he wrote on his Facebook page:

This will be my 16th year standing up against child abuse and we're officially back in the Village at Meridian!  Sign-up to ride with friends, family, co-workers, or come by yourself Everyone is welcome as we stand up for the kids who can't stand for themselves.

After a few years away from this particular model, and thanks to the willingness of CycleBar at The Village at Meridian, Cycle To Break The Cycle has returned and now needs support (and bike riders) from the community!

The event, which will take place on May 3rd through May 6th, is not accepting help from folks of all ages--sing up for a time slot and CYCLE to power the message that it shouldn't hurt to be a child.
