It happens each and every year and only the bravest of Idaho residents are tough enough to show up. If you don't like to wake up early, this event isn't for you. If you don't like the cold, this event certainly isn't for you. If you've been up partying on New Years Eve, well, this event is going to be a struggle.

We're talking about Make-a-Wish Idaho's Polar Bear Challenge!

Championed for years by its great founders, the event is now named the Gebert-Arbaugh Polar Bear Challenge and in 2024, will be back for its 21st year!

If you've never been to the Polar Bear Challenge or perhaps you just missed out on the fun last year--here's a look back at last January's plunge!

The weather was perfect--do you have what it takes!?

We say that this event "might not be for you" lightly--because the cause really is for everyone. The work that Make-a-Wish does right here in Idaho for local kids all across our state that are battling illness, is amazing.

Here's a fun fact: you don't need to plunge into Lucky Peak Reservoir to participate in this amazing cause-- you can sponsor a team or an individual that is plunging and help Make-a-Wish of Idaho!

New this year: the event will now be held on the first Saturday of January, each year! That means that this year, the event will be on January 6th, 2024!
