I know not everyone feels the same as I do, about buying dogs.  I get it, sometimes you want a specific breed of dog, because they are popular or maybe you need a dog that doesn't shed and is hypoallergenic, because of allergies, but there are so many dogs in shelters who need a forever home, so I just think we should adopt more, not buy them.

However, if you are going to buy them, you shouldn't shop in parking lots!  We've all driven buy those shopping centers, especially on weekends, and seen then signs, "Puppies For Sale", sometimes they're even free.  In one particular case though, someone paid $600 and the dog died shortly after of parvo.  From the Idaho Statesman story, the sale took place in Cabela's outdoor store parking lot on Saturday April 6th and the puppy died last Thursday. Now, Cabela's has removed animal breeders from selling in its parking lot.

Cabela's is gearing up for it's nationwide "Dog Days family event", but locally General Manager Chris Domniquez. isn't sure if they will continue with the event.

Avoid buying animals if you can and adopt.  We have many reputable rescues and shelters that have plenty of animals to adopt.  Here are some to check out, if you're looking to bring home a dog or cat and make a forever home for them.
