I've heard that we should give flowers while people are alive and still with us. Unfortunately most of us wait until after someone has passed. When I read the headline about Chadwick Boseman's tweet being the most liked in the history of the social media platform it inspired me to share this concept. Upon reading the news everyone's reaction was to show love and send flowers, can you imagine if he had received half the love while he was alive?

According to Twitter the final tweet received 7.4 million likes as of Monday morning making it the platforms most liked ever. If you missed it you can read it below:

“It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman,” reads the tweet.

“Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, and battled with it these last 4 years as it progressed to stage IV. ⁣

“A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much. From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and several more, all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy. ⁣

“It was the honor of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther. ⁣

“He died in his home, with his wife and family by his side. ⁣

“The family thanks you for your love and prayers, and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time.”

I hope this serves as a reminder to give the flowers while people are still alive...
