College Football Season Ends With Boise State Ranked in Top 10
It was an eventful season for Boise State football fans and now, the season as a whole, has come to an end. What a wild ride thousands of fans have been on over the past 12 to 18 months. A mid-season change at head coach, which was virtually unheard of in the program--to a recovered season and a rebuilt public image.
Is Boise State back atop the 'non-power' football programs in the nation? Many are saying yes they are. At least for now.
The football team was lead by a polarizing and energetic first time head coach, a legendary offensive coordinator, and only the second Heisman Trophy finalist in school history-- Ashton Jeanty.
Now, with the National Championship game wrapped up and Ohio State reigning supreme: the other pieces have fallen into place.
The national runner-up? The University of Notre Dame.
The Boise State Broncos? How about a top 10 finish!
Fans were thrilled to see the respect for Boise State carry into the end of the season--despite their loss in the first ever college football playoff.
The only time that Boise State has ranked higher in the final rankings was in 2006 and 2009 -- both years, the Broncos were Fiesta Bowl Champions! Oh, the glory days!
Up next for Boise State? Capitalizing on their amazing momentum and preparing to do it again--they've got to prove they belong and aren't a one-hit wonder. Perhaps the best way to do it? Winning that legendary game AT Notre Dame in the fall.
