Could McCall Be Losing It’s Most Iconic Restaurant?

Beside beautiful Payette Lake and it's friendly neighborhood lake monster, Sharlie, what's the first thing that comes to mind when someone asks you about McCall?

UPDATE: KTVB was able to get in touch with the family who owns the property, who said their biggest problem right now is finding enough employees to work in the slammed breakfast restaurant.  It's due in large part to the fact that there's not many affordable places for employees to live in McCall. The couple is older and would like to retire, but there's no immediate plans for the restaurant to close completely.

For me, it's how good the food is there! Between McCall classics like Lardos, Salmon River Brewery, Anchor and Pancake House, I end up in a complete food coma every time we head up north!  I'm just hoping one of them is still there by the time we go to McCall for our honeymoon in August.

Our friend Don at BoiseDev noticed that a familiar address was listed for sale: 209 N 3rd Street, McCall, Idaho 83638. Yup.  That's the home of plate-sized pancakes and cinnamon rolls bigger than your head.  Listed through Mark Bottles Real Estate, the iconic Pancake House and the property it calls home is up for sale.  They're asking $3.1 million for the business. Don couldn't get a hold of the owners to find out what this means for the nationally recognized restaurant, but the real estate flyer does say the sale includes the Pancake House business. Hopefully, that means that the new owners will keep the restaurant pretty close to the Pancake House we've come to know and love.

This particular Pancake House building has been around since 2002. A few years ago, they expanded their seating area a few years ago by moving the antique shop upstairs to "Santa's Attic" above the attached Christmas House.  They were able to add about a dozen two top tables to that area to cut down on the long wait times at McCall's most popular breakfast destination.

So...I gotta ask.  Who wants to go in on a GoFundMe account with me and try to save the Pancake House?!
