Many Presidents and Vice Presidents have to find places and things that can refresh their brains during the high-stress, always 'on' jobs that they hold at The White House. It was unique of Cheney to love Idaho the way that he did--the mountains must have been a polarizing escape for him after a busy day in Washington D.C. or frankly, all over the globe.
