Does Idaho Really Want A Minecraft Movie?
We're in a kind of renaissance for video games in media. The Super Mario Bros Movie was a global phenomenon. The new Fallout series on Amazon is getting praise from fans and newcomers alike. And let's not forget about the recent Sonic The Hedgehog movies, which are also pretty solid in their own right.
It seems that may be coming to an end.
First of all, the recent Borderlands film starring Kevin Hart was massive, massive flop. And that's not this writer taking potshots. I'm a lifelong videogame fanatic, and a huge fan of the Borderlands franchise. To say that movie didn't live up to expectations is taking it lightly.
Second, if you have yet to see the trailer for the newly announced A Minecraft Movie, you're going to want to take a look at this:
Again, this isn't an attempt to poopoo on a short clip on the internet. However, it's hard to argue that this film (at least from what we can see in the trailer) lacks that certain something that made The Super Mario Bros Movie such an immense hit.
What do you think? Are you going to hit up your favorite theater in Idaho to check out A Minecraft Movie when it drops in 2025?
