Front-Line Workers Get Free Starbucks This December
It's a story you love to see--even coming from a major corporation. Starbucks is stepping up in a big way to be there for front-line workers in our cities, states, and nation, as they work to keep us safe and healthy.
Since the start of this global pandemic, there have been a LOT of unsung heroes. Everyone from doctors, nurses, public health department employees, first responders, and even mental health workers have been working OVERTIME to keep things going and steady--as well as they can. Even janitorial employees have stepped up in big ways to sanitize and clean the areas that various offices, medical centers, and more need on a daily basis. All of these workers, or, "Front-Line Responders" have been bending over backwards, working even harder than before, and often times doing so in the background while the rest of the world stops or may be paying less attention than normal because of these crazy times.
I want to emphasize that this FREE coffee offer isn't just for one day or even one week, as so often we see. This is an entire MONTH-LONG offer.
In a statement released by Starbucks, it was explained:
In response to the recent rise in COVID-19 cases and to recognize the significant efforts of the front-line responder and health care community, Starbucks announced today that it will offer a free tall brewed coffee (hot or iced) to front-line responders at participating U.S. Starbucks stores throughout the month of December to show appreciation for those keeping our communities safe during COVID-19.
“It has been an extraordinarily difficult year, especially for the front-line responders who are serving our communities,” said Virginia Tenpenny, Starbucks vice president, Global Social Impact. “We want to show our deep gratitude for those who support and protect us every day with a small gesture of kindness and a cup of coffee.”
Here are the details:
- Starting December 1 through December 31, any customer who identifies as a front-line responder to the COVID-19 outbreak will receive a tall brewed coffee (hot or iced) at no charge (see full eligibility list below).
- The offer can be redeemed at Starbucks U.S. company-operated locations and select licensed stores.
Tell a front-line worker near you to hit the nearest Starbucks for their next cup of Joe-- it's on the house!
