Overall, Idaho is a pretty safe state. Compared to many parts of the country, we're almost crime-free.

Almost, in fact, here is a look at the SAFEST cities in Idaho!

The Safest Towns in Idaho in 2021

SafeWise is back with their 2021 Safest Cities reports. How did the Treasure Valley stack up when it came to the rankings that accounted for population, income, violent crime and property crime rates? Here's a look at the Top 10 safest cities and where our area ranked in the entire study.

Even though the Gem State is an amazing place to live with low crime rates overall, it doesn't mean we're completely shielded from criminals and ne'er do wells.

If you had to guess, what would you say is the most dangerous city in Idaho? Boise, because there's a ton of people here, or maybe Twin Falls, because it's a little more remote and spread out?

Both wrong guesses. Actually, Boise didn't even make the top ten. And you're next few will probably be incorrect as well.

Idaho's most dangerous city (according to this list)? Sandpoint.

Not convinced? This comes from Neighborhoodscout.com:

The chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime in Sandpoint is 1 in 69. Based on FBI crime data, Sandpoint is not one of the safest communities in America. Relative to Idaho, Sandpoint has a crime rate that is higher than 82% of the state's cities and towns of all sizes.
